cage building question

numbsun Feb 23, 2007 09:10 AM

I've worked with welded wire mesh before, but for the sake of having something light-weight and portable, I ws thinking of a PVC frame with screen. Any ideas about how to attach the screen and keep it sturdy?

Thanks,

Zip ties would work well. Check out this fantastic PVC enclosure:

I used zip ties in awkward spots (corners) but found it was easy to "stitch" the mesh to the PVC frame with light wire on the long straight sections. Loop the wire through the mesh, over the PVC and through the mesh over and over along the length. Looked a bit nicer, and if I had to change mesh for some reason it was a lot easier to take apart.
