Are you talking Double, Triple, Quad, or Ridiculous combo?

I was thinking this morning about the Super Cinny X Pied that one of the God Fathers is working on and I just had to think, "What would happen if you through an Axanthic in there?"

I'm up for anything mixed with the Pieds.

Is a Pastel Snow possible? How about Mojave Pied or Albino Mojave? Lavendar Snow? Coral Snow? Pewter Spider? Pewter Albino Spider? No!! Pewter Albino Strider!!

OK I'm Done.................Maybe. Sometime things pop into my head.

Do not want to reveal your combo's you are trying to produce then just list a number of actual combo's you can think of.

I dont know why it really stuck out to me but the Axanthic Pied interests me greatly.

I'm not sure you would ever end the possibilities of theses so I will go with the 5 with alot of zeros behind it too and then add ten.

BackBeat Feb 24, 2007 01:24 PM

Just think about what you're asking for a second, and then you'll realize the total number of possibilities is considerably more than one person is willing to type out....

How many individual proven indivual co-dom/dom/recessive genes are there??

Probably 40 to 50 or more...EASILY

Albino
Pied
Hypo
Co-dom/Dom Hypo
Clown
Caramel
Lavender
Spider
Pinstripe
Ian G's Red Stripes
Cinnamon/Blk Pastel
Pastel
YellowBelly
Butter
Lesser
Mojave
Russo Lemon Leucy Hets
Fires
Woma
Phantoms
Genetic Stripe
Shatter Pattern
Banana
Whitesmoke
Lori Ball
.....and on and on and on....

Start combining and go from there...

Albino Gen. Stripe
Albino Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Clown Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Pinstripe Clown Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Hypo Pinstripe Clown Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Lori Hypo Pinstripe Clown Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe

See where I'm going with this?....

Not to mention co-doms and their Supers...>>

Albino Gen. Stripe
Albino Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino SUPER Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Clown SUPER Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Pinstripe Clown SUPER Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Hypo Pinstripe Clown SUPER Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe
Albino Lori Hypo Pinstripe Clown SUPER Pastel Spider Gen. Stripe

How many possible morph combos are there??
Well, my guesstimate would be TENS of THOUSANDS...

(maybe someone willing to crunch the numbers will chime in with the actual number of possibilities....Randy Remington is who I'd put money on to do it...lol...he seems to enjoy statistics and such....NOT an insult, Randy....a compliment, really, on your patience and persevearance... )

To list EVERY possible morph combination starting with just two traits and working up to listing an animal displaying EVERY proven gene would probably take an entire month to type out....hahaha

Not to mention that the process of PRODUCING an animal showing every gene would take atleast a DECADE. And even then, how do you know that animal is showing EVERY gene without taking years to test breed it...the amount of test breeding needed scares me.

I don't want to insult the beauty of the BP or the potential of the breeders, but a Ball that had every possible combination would either be real ugly or real plain. For example, once you get the snow or Leucistic, what can you do? There is now banded pastel spider leucistic. Maybe a gold/yellow eyed Lucy but that would be it. Unless it became crystal clear. Then it would be real interesting.

On the note of combos, Is it possible to get a Red Ball?

In the 'Corn Snake Manual' Kathy Love poses the same question regarding a Corn homozygous for every trait.

She compares it to when kids combine every crayon in a Crayola box to make a brown blob of colour. lol

And I don't doubt she is right.

I agree with you and showing how the combo's are FAR from being produced and sold was exactly the reason for the post. Anyone that likes/loves Royal Pythons needs to realize that the hobby/business/market/passion is amazing. Your thoughts and time/effort are appreciated.

When you realize that each new combo morph created which has up until that time not EVER been created by breeders is available, people keeping/breeding/collecting Royal Pythons are going to want that combo "if they like it" or "it is an asset to their collection". When and as the "original" morphs come down in price the combo's will be more valuable becuase they are rare in comparison. The best combo's will keep the morphs needed to produce them more valuable longer. These are truly "designer" morphs. The only way to get them is to buy them or produce them in which case you would need the morphs to combine. Royal Pythons do not produce alot of eggs and considering some combo morphs will only be a percentage of each clutch, they are even more valuable and harder to produce.

How many actual combo morphs are possible to produce and this also takes into account the combo x combo morphs?
