BP with two issues

myq13 Feb 24, 2007 03:51 PM

My gf recently let her younger brother have her sanke thinking he'd be responsable enough for it. It turns out he's not. Today she visited the snake for the first time and noticed a couple things wring with him.

1. He's very swolen near the tail, instead of a nice taper the body is pretty much the same thickness then the last couple inches tapers off drasticly. It feels kinda soft, but the snake doesn't react when the area is touched.

2. Respirtory problem. I did some research before posting and this sounds like either an RI or bacterial infection, but let me post the details just to be sure.

He makes an odd clicking noise from his mouth, weazes, and yawns frequently. Sometimes after the yawn is a convulsion or tremor.

Any info you can give would be helpfull.

P.S. We're taking the snake back from her little bro.

Get the snake to a vet as soon as possible and take the snake from your GF brother.

Thanks.

We found an exotic vet in the area with Sunday hours.

It appears I overreacted. The swollen area near his tail went back to normal, maybe it was just taking him longer than normal to pass his last meal.

As for the respiritory issue, it clrared itself up. He stopped yawning and convulsing all together.

Thanks for your concern though
