why buy them when you can get them free just by asking for any cafeteria at school or work or a nearby restaurant, to hold some for you. That is how I get all of my egg crates. Poultry supply stores may sell them in big bundles.
If you only need a small amount (ie under 50) it shouldn't take long to get them from a nearby restaurant, ideally one you eat at fairly often. If you sort of know the staff (they see you there often enough to recognize you) it shouldn't be any problem getting them to hold some of their egg cartons. Best to go every day or every other day to collect what they hold back, as they may not be able to keep stacks of them lying around.
Work and school cafes are great for getting these from, especially if they serve breakfast.
