How to sex my new corn snake?

venemex Aug 11, 2003 03:57 PM

I recently acquired a hatchling snow corn from my friend. But the only thing is I dont know how to sex corns. I have a probe set for the ball pythons that we breed together but they are WAY to large for the corns. I know you can "pop" ball's and expose the hemipenis on the males but i wasnt sure if this is safe to perform on such a young small snake. Please let me know if there is a simpler way or if i should just wait until it gets bigger to probe it.
Thanks
Joe

If you don't mind waiting, I'd just let it grow up to a size where you can probe it with the probes you use for your ball pythons.

You can pop them, but you have to be careful so as not to damage them.
