my Sumatran bloods

Gregory Feb 25, 2007 01:08 PM

We've had the male (bottom pic) for nearly a year, I got him as a hatchling from a friend's pet store and he pounds anything we give him. We picked up the 06 female and she simply refused to eat. She never lost more than a gram of body weight and got never weak. We tried every variable from temp and humidity to size of the prey to no avail. Being a vet tech I used everything in my arsenal and supplemented her water so that she'd at least get some nutrition but still nothing. Finally I tried the one thing I'd never thought of... live prey, and that did the trick. Now she's had her second meal in as many weeks and was looking for another one when I took this pic this morning.

Thanks for looking,

Gregory
