FOODS OTHER THAN TREX AND BABY FOOD

lizardcouple Feb 25, 2007 06:43 PM

Anybody here use food for cresties other than trex and baby food. because i don't know if many people know of the better foods such as Clarks frugorious gecko diet and Repashy super foods. i have used them all and found clarks and repashy foods to be far superior than trex foods.

Actually, T-Rex Crested Gecko Diet and "Repashy Foods" are exactly the same stuff, unless you're talking about the new Repashy formula where you have a base and separate flavored nectars that need to be mixed in.

yeah i have the new stuff plus the old repashy formula. and it seems to be the same. i will use it till clarks comes out with his new formula. it costs more but is well worth it.

Nothing against Clark's Diet... I've occasionally used it myself in the past, but why do you think it's "well worth the extra money"? It's not a "complete diet" like the Repashy (T-Rex) CGD. The Clarks works fine if you're feeding properly dusted insects as a supplement to "fill in the gaps". I know people used to have the impression that Clarks was much more palatable than the CGD, but there was a reason for that... the Clarks had a higher sugar content. The CGD formula has been tweaked several times and I find that the newer formulations mix up much smoother and are accepted much more eagerly than the previous formulations.

Again, not bashing Clarks here... used properly, I think it's a valid food source... much better than baby food for sure.

Gary, good post.... I just about made the exact same post last night, but with a little bit added to it.
The main thing that bothers me about Clark's diet, is that he straight up throws it together, and starts selling it. He doesn't test it out on a generation ( breeding and raising offspring) before selling it. Allen has refined his diet several times ( over 8 years!), each time for a specific reason. It's also quite apparent who knows what they're doing when you get to see them both speak about their products and the nutritional value they contain.
