I keep mine in I believe they are 41 quart tubs. Bout 3 feet long and a foot wide. Label says they're supposed to go under the bed for sweaters but I know better...

do balls need hides in the bins or are they fine without them.
I offer them but they don't seem to care either way. I find them out of the hides almost as much as I find them in them, which leads me to think that the tubs make them feel like they're in burrows or something along those lines and they feel safer. My baby snakes don't use the hides I offer at all.

I do not....my racks are black which provide my animals with dark enclosures and security. If you have dark racks I don't see the need

Do you have the problem that Rubbermaid and Sterilite aren't "Really" storage boxes? I find myself walking through Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, and thinking "Breeder box, hatchlings, hide box, water bowl, incubator, home-made rack system". Nothing is what it is sold for. Had a guy in my office the other day talking about redoing his bathroom and was getting a new shower. I actually stopped to ask what he was doing with the old one with no intention of using it for a shower.
What an addiction.

Ahahaha YES I do have that problem. I'm doing the same thing asking my friends who work at places like home depot and lowes if there's a way I can get a shower for cheap. Not gonna use it for a shower, of course. lol!

I use 32 quarts sterlites for even my bigger girls, and they suit them fine IMO.

I just gutted a console TV because it didn't work. Plexiglass, Acrylic, or Sliding Glass on the front, a little decor inside and it's Animal Planet 24/7/365.

WHOA! That is an AWESOME idea! What do you mean by "console tv"? Like a regular ole sony that stopped working or what?
Got any other cool ideas like that?

Sorry it took so long to get back to this one. Yeah, any solid exterior. I haven't decided whether to make it an enclosure or try to see if it would make an incubator. Here are some start out pics. I have guttted the set. I'll send updates as I get the time to work on it.
