Sunglow/hybino genetics?

unicorn118 Feb 26, 2007 10:30 AM

Ok, got some questions...

Are sunglows and hybinos the same thing?

If they are, then is it correct that they are the result of a cross between an albino and a super hypo carrot tail?

What happens when you cross a variation of either such as crossing a tangerine albino with a SHCT?

If that is not correct, then what are they a result of?

If sunglows and hybinos are different, then what are each of them?

Thanks, Valerie

They're kind of the same, but at the same time there not the same.
If you have an understanding of the line bred Orange morphs ( Hypo, Super Hypo, Carrot Tail, Tangerines, ext.) it will help answer this.
The Hybinos, Tangerine Albinos, & Sunglows are the albino forms of the Orange morphs & as with the Orange morphs there are many different combinations made among them & varing differences among them as well.
This would also explain why you also see a wide price range among the Orange morphs & there Albino forms. Which is determined by there quality.
I hope this will help to explain:

Tangerine Albino = Tangerine Albino
Hypo/Super Hypo Albino = Hybino
Hypo/Super Hypo Tangerine Albino = Tangerine Hybino (aka, Sunglow)

Yes they are the same just differant just differant breeder lines but all are the result of hypo X albino. For some resion god knowns why ? a hypo in albino form dosen't seem to recionize the strain's they just use the term hybino or sunglow or hyglo no matter what the stain.
Anyway,

Ray hines came up with (Hybino)
Urban gecko came up with (Sunglow)
A&M geckos came up with (Hyglo)

I just like to use.
Albino hypo or Albino super hypo depending what strain they are.
And add tangerine if very orange.
nice and strate forward .
