Good Question.....It all depends on the stage at which the RI is currently at. Can you give details on why you believe you aniaml has an RI. We'll go from there

i dont beleive he has one i know he has one. he is wheezing and gurgling and bubbling. its probably why he was given to us.

I guess if you would have given more information in your original post I would have know that he in fact does have an RI. Unfortunately you will have to see a vet for this as it is already too late to try to beat it with increasing temps.

This tells me he may be in an advanced stage of RI. A vet visit at this point should be mandatory. Until then I would increase his temps from around 83 in cool end to 87 warm end (these are ambient temps) and maintain the temps 24X7. That is, no night-time drops.

Maintain the higher temps until you can get to the vet. But definitely get to the vet. An hour is a short trip if it will save his life.

Lead us not into temptation. We can find it on our own.

oh yeah a vet trip is happeneing in the very near future i was just hoping there would be another solution. i know that in an earlier stage heat would have done the trick. i didnt mean to sound short with anyone but i know what a RI is. i shouldnt have to describe it unless someone doesnt know what i looks like.

jmartin104 Feb 27, 2007 06:16 AM

There are many people on here that do not know what it is or the various stages. A clear description helps those who do not know and others in helping with a solution.

I hope your snake gets better.

I wouldn't worry too much. Things can sometimes get lost when typing.
