What food?

PatrickR Feb 26, 2007 10:34 AM

I am looking into feeding a commercial pellet food to my rats for hopefully increased production and health

Can everyone tell me:

1) what food you are feeding, name, number, manufacturer
2) What production do you have now (animals per cage, number of cages, and litter sizes)
3) was there an increase in hwat you have now compared to what you were feeding

Thanks
PatrickR

Ive been raising rats and although i only place males with females when i want as i don't need very many at a time, they are all in 10 gallon tanks and then when i need alot more feeders i place 1.4 in a larger tank. I found that when i feed a variety of different food(other than pellets) i get larger litters, ive had a high and all surviving of 23 from one mom but i divided the job up. i think sticking with same old food and the tempreature has alot to do with breeding times as well. I've tried different methods and i like where im at now with it.
