More silkworm questions

When I get a dragon, I plan to convert him/her to silkworms as a staple food when (s)he is around 5 months old. About how many silkworms would we need a day?

We have a store nearby that sells them, but it's pretty expensive (3 for $1!) so we plan to buy online. We checked out Mulberry Farms and it seems like one order of worms from them will last us a LONG time.

So is it easy to keep these guys alive long enough for a dragon to go through a shipment of the little guys?

you can also go to www.herpfood.com and get some to try, if you have a mulberry tree they are easy to raise, that chow seems to up the humidity and i get a lot more die offs... you can feed your baby silkworms also, just feed out the small worms, tehy are great for them, my adults eat about 6-10 full grown worms everyday i also feed them a pelleted diet with their salads daily and other food items such as butterworms which they love. Carrick was raised on a diet of mainly silkworms with some crickets and also butterworms as treats, when he got a little older i did feed out some superworms but he is on a diet now, so no supers for him my little baby Daigh right now is on a diet of silkworms and 1/4 inch crickets, hes approx 7 inches, the silks are really high calcium so are very good for them.

depending on your dragon, he will eat probably between 6-12 silkworms a day. A bit more if the worms are small and a little less if they are big.

Silkworms are ready to keep but they will continue to grow till they reach full growth then they will pupate. At this point you can just throw them away or let them turn into moths and produce eggs.

Thank you! These amounts are much more managable. By the way, do you know if the shipping included is next day or two day? I don't see it on their site.
