>>Potter instigates Kevin about some obscure subject.
LOL - that pretty much sums it up - I signed in got bored with all the gibberish - checked back periodically throughout the event - same gibberish - lots of people getting thrown out.
It was nice to see some of the big guys come out and participate - too bad it couldn't have been more informative and inspirational instead of a bunch of personal gobbledygook getting thrown around.
Perhaps I missed the good stuff?
Oh well maybe next time.

I think it would have proably gone better by doing it by podcast where all the guest speakers could have been allowed to discuss ball pythons and had the viewers send their questions in via the chat room and then they could of had a panel pick the questions from the live chat and have the guest answer them this way everything is organized and good questions get answered, and all of this could have been put on a podcast for future listening , all you have to do is use the technology alittle better thats all , good breeding
It could have been fixed by simply having participants send their questions to the moderators through the built in private message feature. Then have the moderators ask the questions when the current is finished. That would prevent the cluster***k that was the chat window.
Also, pre-screened questions might eliminate almost non-hobby related questions like "If you were a ball python, what morph would you be? Would you be c.b. or w.c. lol" (note: this was never asked, but questions of equal intelligence were.)
Just my opinion, the whole thing seemed kind of sloppy.

I agree that it was very unorganized, I’m sure that it was a very hard chat to moderate, they did the best they could. A lot of wild personalities there, it was hard to really get into anything because there was always ten questions at the same time. Potter and Kev had some classically funny things said, but I’m not sure that it came off as good as it could have. Both are incredible people and I know have a genuine love for their animals. I really thought that their humor would have worked better, to me they were funny as crap. But it did seem a little chaotic with everyone jumping in. I was disappointed in my participation, I really wasn’t able to answer questions the way that I would have liked. It wasn’t anyone’s fault by my own. I was happy to see all the names that joined the chat and in some ways I think it just became an open chat. I’m sure that it made it hard for people to really get everything answered that they wanted to. I’m sorry if it was a disappointment for some. But I think the panel did have it’s moments
It was nice to see Ralph, Tracy and Mike Willbanks and others come and hang out for a while. Well, If I ever get a chance I’ll try harder next time. Brian (BHB)
answer them now? No interruptions. Hopefully

I think that's a great idea as well. Of course there were a lot of questions that didn't pertain to me, but I would love to answer any question that I didn't get a chance to last night. When the Transcript comes out I will do my best. In the meanwhile I'd be happy to feild anyones questions that didn't get asked last night. It's kind of a do over
Thanks for the idea, it is a great one, Brian (BHB)
My Question was skipped last night.. Can you repost Your post from Sunday night? The one that got deleted.. Thanks

Brian,
Hey, I got a question for ya. On your postcard that was being passed out at the Arlington show, would you name the 6 snakes on the front? I am not sure about 1 or 2. Thanks.

I am a moderator of a big sports board (StL. Rams).
We create another board so posters can post there questions, we have a predetermined amount of questions (40) & then we have a guy come answer them.
For those familiar with the St.Louis area & like sports we have Randy Karraker answer them, for those who's not familiar with that area he's a long time sports radio personality in St.Louis.
It's easier on the mods, it's easier on the guest, & it's a heck of allot easier to follow, on the downside there is not as much interaction.
Justa thought......

We might all learn by example.
Please read the above post written by Brian. THIS MAN is perhaps one the best examples of integrity I have seen on this board. I have never once read a post where he found the need to belittle someone else. He does not cast blame, make excuses, nor does he pass the buck. Brian steps up to the plate. He always states his honest opinion, and regularly offers complements and kind words to other posters. Here is a guy who is REALLY at the top of the game and yet he does not need to boast in order to increase is own “intracranial PSI“. You never see him shooting down someone who asks a “Newbie” type question. Brian is supportive and informative.
I didn’t post this statement so that I would have the opportunity to wipe some brown stuff off of my nose... I just thought that we might all take note of the posts made by BHB. Although he might not post as frequently as some other people… I think we can all agree that Quality Of Content is always FAR superior to Numerous Postings.
Take a look at ANY of his posts made on this board. I think you will see a pattern.
Brian does not have an oral flatulence problem! When he does speak, it is really worth hearing what he has to say. You can tell he has put some introspective thought into the posting he makes. (Kudos to you my friend!)
We could all learn by example. Lets make this board a Fun and Informative Tool for all.

What can I say, I really don't deserve that kind of praise, but it's very appreciated. And I know there will be some that say I'm just "acting" modest. The truth is that this business will make you modest. I've just been lucky enough to last long enough to see that ego doesn't help in anyway. Sure it's nice to get noticed, but the problem comes when that's why you're doing it. Eugene Besset once told me " the fruits of our labor are our labor". I'll never forget that. Thanks again, Brian (BHB)
My screen was flying by...people private messaging me or whispering.... trying to keep up.
I really thin it would be great to answer questions about mutations and things like that...genetics, health....
What got me was the first answer about getting a Ball to feed.... To answer it right I needed some input on the exact situation and set-up. Since I did not get that due to the limited nature of the chat I was frustrated because there was no magical answer to help that person. As we know it there can be many different things that may prevent a ball from feeding. So right off we were chasing to answer people's questions, I tried to type fast and provide as much input as possible but so many things got lost. I also tried to goof around to keep things fun, I don't want to be "Plain Jane" with all of my answers. Brian(GOODMIDGETMORPHGOD) I tried to keep you going with my poking!
I think we would be happy to answer questions here in this thread!
Kevin

really a woma pastel whitesmoke? Something tells me....but I'll let Kevin answer that question.

Well, the more I looked at her, the more I thought that-somewhere you posted that the breeder male could have been a wannabee--but I thought 1) her face 2) the holes in the patterns reminded me of the pastel womas 3) the markings on the top of her head 4) just that cute all over woma look
Now the question-what would you breed to her--next year at the earliest of course?
The Dad IS a Wanna Bee for sure!!!
That snake is AWESOME looking......
Do not breed it to a Woma...you don't want to go through what I go through... How about something with melanin in it...... to bring out the purple....
I have to think on that one!
Kevin

I missed out, thanks for finding out!
I with Kev, and your poking was taken in good fun. We should answer all the questions that people want to know and didn't get the chance last night. I must admit though you had some pretty funny lines going last night
Brian AKA "Passion" AKA GOODMIDGETMORPHGOD. Just to let you know I prefer little person over midget.
How did you turn your hobbies into a business? I want to know the business side of it. How do you track your sales and then figure out your profits and then file taxes on it. ROI's and GM. Do you have a way to break all that down.

I'll answer that question later today. It's kind of a long answer and I have a meeting to attend in a few minutes. Stay tuned, Brian (BHB)
