What is the going price for for a normal Black headed python?
Really depends on the QUALITY of the animal.
I've seen pairs go for 7500 (absolute screamers) to right around 3000 (for average animals).

thanks way beyond my budget. I'll wait until it reaches a couple of hundred.
Ha,
You'll be waiting awhile.

Yes You are right there. All though I do remember when albino burmese pythons were selling for or at least advertised for 10,000. dollars.
Burmese can produce 40 eggs a year, and are easy to breed. BHs average 6-8 eggs, not easy to breed, although it's gotten better. I've seen pairs go for $10K in nice shape. I bought mine as babies 5 minutes after the Daytona show was over for $2500 for the pair in 04. Nice ones can bring $4500 a pair. Mine are very nice, but not light colored screamers. Not dark, either.
