SO i bought an under tank heater yesterday for gypsie and it is placed under the humid hide...and he/she refuses to go into that hide now, i have found him on top of the hide but wont go into it..and suggestions?

Could be TOO hot what is the temps inside the hide? If over 90 then you need to either not have the light on or just put the UTH under half way! It also goes under the tank not inside the tank under the hide. Just to clarify that!
yeah i know the heater goes under the tank and the temp is 84
Ok i would raise a bit it should be 85-90!
Yea it may have been just a bit too cold; the moisture in the substrate can make it feel even colder. I bought the smallest UTH offered by ZooMed meant for a 5.5 gallon just for my humid hide. I have about 1cm of sand ontop of the UTH plus there is an air gap of about .5 inch before the base of the humid hide. They all cram into the humid hide so I guess they find it comfy.
If your hide rests directly on the substrate then u can pick up a lamp dimmer at home depot to control the UTH temp. I have these on all of my setups and they work awesome.
