Does anyone know of any outward characteristics, physical or behavioral, that could help me to determine the gender of my niles? Thanks.

hard to tell in juveniles. males develop hemipenal bulges just distal to the vent/butt. males tend to have more pronounced nasal flares or nostril height (if that makes sense) and a generally more massive, thick head.
Hey Krusty,
Yes, that makes sense. I got both of mine as babies a month apart. One was a bit smaller however the smaller one quickly outgrew the other. The larger one is 4' now after 11 months the other is over 3'. The larger has distinct bulges and a more massive head. I was thinking the different shaped head might have something to do with locale. I'll have to see about the nostril thing. The smaller one has a skinnier tail base. Would these sizes still be considered juveniles?
Thanks
Roger
may be able to guess if you had pics available.

testing Female???

Only one at a time I guess

My first guess would be female but don't forget it's only a guess.
Thats kinda what I was guessing as well. Thanks Chuch911jeep.

you should be able to visually sex those animals at that size, assuming you know what you are looking for. check out this FAQ, there are some new pics in there that show the hemipenal bulge you are looking for.
