Female Hypo Cal pic

FunkyRes Feb 27, 2007 07:10 PM

This is my girl - picked her up at Sac last year from CheckerBellyFarms:

She's out of brumation now and fattening up - hopefully she'll give me a nice clutch of hets this year

I like her because she's got cream bands, it seems a lot of hypos out there have distinctively yellow bands.

I have no idea what line she is, just that she was labeled "Lavender albino"

That is too awesome!!
I love those types of cal kings, the hypo versions. I have only one.
The hypo gene, in my understanding, can be tricky. In other words, some hypos are not compatible with others, to produce all hypo offspring?
Any input FunkyRes?

Yeah - that's what I've heard.
I'm going to hopefully buy a couple of neonates from the same vendor this year as mates for the hets I produce.

Then after I'm making them, I might play around and see what other lines they are compat with.

Is that a Merker line?
I've enjoyed his photos so much I'm tempted to buy *something* from him - though I'm leaning towards a GBK.

His hypos are locality if I remember, which is an added bonus

This one came through a few friends before I got it. The original seller sold it to my first friend as a Blue Eyed Blonde/or in a group of BEBs. Then, it went to a second friend before I purchased it.

Now being an avid customer of Vivid Reptiles, I knew when I first saw it that it was not a BEB. I then checked out some pics on Vivid's site and then came to the conclusion that it appeared to be a " het " BEB, and it was the exact spitting image of the hets Vivid was selling at that time on their site.
So that is it in a nutshell.

I really do like the locality hypos that the Merkers have!

is a stunning animal!!!! Awesome color on her.
The color 'looks' really accurate - I've had a very hard time photographing lavenders and hypos and getting their colors to reproduce well.

Keep up posted on her breeding (read: cause i really want a pair)

What kind of tire were they found in?

shannon brown Feb 28, 2007 10:20 PM

It was a remington 225/15/r70. Still had decent tread but looked like a recap.

Awesome. What would be really cool is if you could also find a pair of like striped Pacific Gophers under the same fender and then like find a pair of Rosies under the same hood. I don't know why but I think that would be really neat.

zach_whitman Feb 28, 2007 08:49 PM

those guys are neat. Probobly the darkest hypos I have seen. Where were they found?

merker hypo

shannon brown Feb 28, 2007 10:21 PM

Sacramento area along the American River.

thats not to far from where the merker line originated from. It would be neat if they were compatible.
