I finally got a blood!

pythonpapa Aug 11, 2003 06:37 PM

I've kept snakes all my life, but have been out of the hobby for awhile. Now that my wife's gone, I went and got this guy!(girl?) I was stupid and bought a small(10"skinny snake that as far as I know hadn't eaten yet, but I couldn't resist. Didn't show any interest in eating for about 10 days(can you say, "panic"?)Then WAM! ripped that rat out of the tongs before I knew what happened! Now he comes out to the same spot every night looking for more! Haven't handled him much yet, so I don't know if he's going to be snappy or not. Sorry this post is so long, I'm just excited!

That guys beautiful. Where did you get it and how much? I've been comparing prices and breeders for a few weeks now to get a blood python. Good luck with him!

Hey ,
He or she is gorgeous! You might want to keep a moisture box in with it, or might even consider using cypress mulch as a substrate for humidity and hiding (they need lots of humidity, 70-80%). They love hiding and burying them selves in it. Keeps the dreaded URI away and makes them happy at the same time. Good luck with it.
