Vision problem

jghizdar Feb 28, 2007 01:52 AM

Hello, I am new here and please excuse me if this question has been asked before. I have had two leopard geckos with what seems to be vision problems. This problem seems to progress with age, starting at around one year of age. My leo sees his food in front of them, but do not manage to catch it. This is because they strike either half inch to the left or right. Feeding them by hand seems to work, but then again this is not always a sure catch. He feeds, but become discouraged it seems. Is there some way to correct this or is this what happens when they are "produced" in quantities? This is quite sad to see an animal discouraged. Any comments or suggestions please.

It could be vision problems or it could just be your gecko is used to you hand feeding so he tends to like that more.

I have 7 leos and all of them love when i feed with the tongs. They usually won't eat mealies or waxies in a dish at all i have to use the tongs to feed them.

Good luck!
