"I Have A Dream"

chaz-schilens Feb 28, 2007 03:10 PM

I was sitting at school the other day (day-dreaming) and thought to myself, "How many different snakes would come from breeding a Moonglow X Sunglow Motely." I actually tried to figure it out myself but it just got too crazy. Who knows exactly what the outcome would be? Let the competition begin! Chaz

Visuals:
Sunglow (and Super)
Albino
Albino Motley
Sunglow Motley (and Motley Super Sunglow)

Everything would be Albino of some form and het Anery. 75% of the litter would be Hypo, 1/3 of those Super Hypos. And 50% of the litter would be Motley.

Try this one:
Sharp Albino het Anery X Hypo Motley Paradigm het Anery.
I got 16 possible morphs off that cross!

Correct on the "I Have A Dream" outcome and on 16 morphs from your pairing. If you change them to:
Paradigm het Anery X Hypo Motley Paradigm het Anery
You get 24 possible morphs (assuming you can tell the difference between caramel, hypo and caramel hypo)

LOL, to many snakes to list, last count:

Are you sure?
What if Paradigm X Paradigm produces all Paradigm. It is possible.
Then Paradigm het Anery X Hypo Motley paradigm het Anery would give:
Paradigm
Hypo Paradigm
Motley Paradigm
Hypo Motley Paradigm
Anery Paradigm
Ghost Paradigm
Motley Anery Paradigm
and Motley Ghost Paradigm.

With the Sharp Albino het Anery X Hypo Motley Paradigm het Anery=
Sharp
Paradigm
Sharp Sunglow
Motley Sharp
Motley Sharp Sunglow
Sharp Snow
Sharp SnowGlow
Motley Paradigm
Hypo Paradigm
Hypo Motley Paradigm
Anery Paradigm
Ghost Paradigm
Anery Motley Paradigm
Ghost Motley Paradigm
Motley Sharp Snow
Motley Sharp SnowGlow

By definition, paradigm is one Sharp albino gene paired with one Boawoman caramel hypo gene. Yes, not widely bred and proven, but as I understood it if you were to breed a sharp albino to a homozygous caramel albino, you would get all paradigms. The paradigm being the FIRST identified gene locus in boas with three possible genes, normal albino and caramel albino. If true, then would be three possible outcomes from paradigm x paradigm:

1/2 paradigm
1/4 caramel albino
1/4 sharp albino

I use simple math to calculate the possibilities:

Then Paradigm het Anery X Hypo Motley paradigm het Anery

You factor each morph seperately:

Paradigm x paradigm = 3 possible visual morphs
het anery x het anery = 2 possible visual morphs
norm x hypo = 2 possible visual morphs
norm x motley = 2 possible visual morphs

2x2x2x3=24 possible visual combinations

Of course the probability of each individual combination is more difficult but still the same process except you multiply the individual probabilities.

ie sharp moonglow motley =
sharp albino(25%) x anery (25%) x hypo (50%) x motley (50%) or
.25 x .25 x .5 x .5 = 0.015625 = 1/64 Probability

Mike will probably do it way before me. But my Sharp female is a 50% possible het Anery. Mike was going to try a Hypo Motley het Anery on a Paradigm in the future (year or so). So I wanted to get a male from that litter for my girl.

Somebody will do it!

1/8 Super sunglow motley
2/8 sunglow motley
1/8 albino motley
1/8 super sunglow

I'm Lost! Your guys dreams are bigger and better than mine. Just think of how insane that is. Thats really possible? 24 diffrent morphs in one litter. Well at least im not the only one that thinks of every possible snake to cross in my spare time.
Have a Great day, Chaz
