Well.... which one is it? Lesser or Butter? Looks like a Lesser to me, but just so you know, they are similar, but are NOT the same thing. Both the Lesser and Butter are from independent pedigreed lines originating from either Platty Daddy(Lesser Platinum) or the Original Butter (Butter line).
Seems these and some of the other het lucies out there are more than likely alleles of the same trait/morph. Much like the difference between the pastel lines, cinnamon/black lines, or even the different Fire/Ember/Etc. lines. They end up producing similar animals, but the differences in the actual trait and/or bloodlines create unique differentiable phenotypes (aka Butter/Mojave/Lesser)

Ah, that makes sense then, no need to rehash that old argument.
Just wish BHB would designate it with a unique name, in order to distinguish his line from others and their unique ancestry.

here's a question for you. Is Ralph's butter a butter then? Since his did not originate from the Bell's line shouldn't he rename it then? butters and lessers are the same regardless of what people say. I've seen butters that have almost no yellow on them and were sired from animals that were themselves sired by the original butter and I've seen animals from the platty line that had more yellow than 90% of the "butters". I think lesser/butter is a good name for an animal who's lineage can't be traced back to one of the founding animals, no reason to lable it incorrectly. On that note, if I were buying one of the animals, I would pay a few extra bucks to someone that kept records and could trace an animal back (sounds like a registry type of system, lol).
