Dehydration - peeing alot

cdf7v Feb 28, 2007 07:14 PM

Our new guy was at the vet for the past 4 days, and when I got him back he looked bloated. Not a bad thing it seemed as he looked healthier. He went pee 4 or 5 times yesterday though and 3 times so far today. He now looks just as dehydrated as when we "rescued" him a week ago. His last set of droppings smelled really bad.

I was able to give him some neocal, lactulose with milk thistle and his baytril today along with some bird handfeed formula today and maybe this is why it smelled so bad, but thats what they were giving him at the vet and he looked much better after 4 days of that. It took me about 30 minutes to finally get his mouth open and I am worried this might stress him out too much.

I really dont know what to do at this point though. His body is very loose and he has no energy. He still moves around a bit but its not looking good.

He wasnt eating anything and trying to forcefeed him and give him his meds I think finally stressed him out too much. When my wife got home this evening he was gone.
