Rat trios?

FireStorm Feb 28, 2007 08:14 PM

I have a quick question for those of you who breed rats. I kept 1.2 rats the last time I bought live feeders so I could try raising some of my own. I'm keeping them in a 20g long aquarium right now. I know aquariums aren't ideal, and I will probably find something else at some point, but it seems ok for now. So here's my question: Both females are pregnant. Should I keep the trio together or separate them? I kept gerbil trios together with no problems, but I don't really know much about rat behavior. Will the male kill the pups?

Thanks in advance,
Shelly

You should be able to leave them together.
