Update on the burnt little girl..

fattiesnleos Feb 28, 2007 11:49 PM

well some of you may remember the burnt/scraped little girl I adopted from a petstore about 2 weeks back. she is doing great eating about 7-10 crickets a night and her scar is healing. I still cant decide if she is just lacking yellow pigment or maybe she is some type of line-bred snow. (wishfull thinking)
the first pick is the day i brought her home Feb 17 and the second pic is tonight, 11 days later. her scab has fallen off but it will still take a few more sheds/weeks befor it will look a little better.

thanks guys. shes really has been a pleasure to have, too. when i first saw her she was hiding and i couldnt tell how badly she was messed up untill i asked to see her. when i finally did see her i was shocked! i almost didnt want to pick her up because i didnt want to give the rest of my 30 geckos some sort of disease, that is if i didnt wash good enough or something. needless to say i picked her up anyways and fell in love. she just layed on my arm next to my body as if she didnt want to be anwere else. i held her for about 20 minutes wondering arround the store and she never wanted to move. i also wanted to see if i could notice any breathing trouble, alertness issues, and wanted to make sure she had clear eyes and nose, and so fourth. she doesnt seem to have any problems except the obvious missing toes, on sand, and the large scrape. after another 2 months or so ill let her move into my rack system but for now she lives in the living room. i will indeed update next shed, 2weeks or soo.

When a reptile has an injury like that, they are stimulated to shed more often... That little girl should be good as new in no time...
