huge uromastyx pic...i want to see one

joeyjoh Mar 01, 2007 08:46 AM

Hello everyone,
i am not a uromastyx owner i have 2 blue tongue skinks which I bred last year and a dumerils monitor.

I have been thru alot of the photo gallery and have seen some of the big ones. of coarse I am refereing to egyptians.

I would like to see a pic of someone holding one or one in a lap or something like that for reference. i also like the ones that have the tape measure beside them. but with those I have a hard time getting a picture in my mind of the mass.

the reason i want this is because in a few years i am thinking of adding to my lizard family. I originally was thinking of a water monitor and may still go that route but, the water management is quite difficult and I am not going to get an animal that I can't devote the time needed to give it what it needs. This is why I choose a dumerils monitor was to gage on a small scale needs of a water monitor. the dumerils is doing great but i am thinking of going down a different path than the water.

I love the look of the egyptians, to me about as prehistoric as you get. So I am thinking of going that route but i don't want to be disappointed by the size. It looks like they are big and bold. I get thrown off because you see the 24" and think that is not that big because i have 2 bluetongue that are 21".

any pics appreciated sorry so long
