misting system

tommygun438 Mar 01, 2007 11:31 AM

Id like some suggestions on misting systems that you guys use for your frogs. I have been spraying them with a bottle daily but i would like to get an automated timed system. I bought a pump from home depot and some misters but it doestn have enough power to get much wtaer flow and they just drip.

I would be interested in this, too--hopefully affordable. I have a couple of Haba-mist things, but they too, are rather dribbly and reach only a small area. I've been thinking that this same system might be set up with a better delivery system and decent nozzles, but haven't gotten around to trying this out yet.

IF you get something to work let me know. Ive seen some misting systems on some online stores but they are about $100.00!

I bought mine from Big Apple. I bought the one that they sell with their name. It cost 109 dollars instead of the other systems I have seen for a lot more money then that. I am very pleased with mine. The timer was easy to figure out... it was too easy!! I wish the timer I bought for my lights was that easy because I am still trying to figure the darn thing out lol. They ship supper fast two. I ordered it in the morning of one day and recieved it in the mail the next evening!! I would recommend perchasing this system to anyone. I just have to buy some more misting nozzles and some T connectors for mine which I plan on doing tomorrow morning. Hope this helps.

What kind of pump does the one from big apple use? Or how many GPH is the flow rate?

I am not sure what size the pump is. But you can check it out at big apple. It is listed in the humidity catagory I think. All I know is that for me it was easy to install and use and much better priced then anywhere else.I give it a thumbs up for quaility and the best resonably priced system I seen so far.

Most of the misting system pumps are fairly low flow rates, but at very high pressure. THe ones I was looking at range from 50-100psi, but only do 2-4 gallons per hour or something like that. I researched it heavilly a while ago, so my info may be a bit off.
