Update on "Doesn't Look Good" thread...

ToniaD Aug 11, 2003 08:43 PM

The vet said Bob is in bad shape; he may be able to pull out of it or he may not. I got the feeling that she really didn't have much hope for him. She said to make sure his temps are 80 at the top side & 70 at the bottom; she thinks he's been too warm on top of being severely stressed. She said he was extremely emanciated. I was shown how to force-feed him & he was given an injection of Lactated Ringer's Solution; she said that he was definitely dehydrated, as well. And, she said there was NO WAY he could only be 12 wks. old; more like 2 or 3 yrs--you guys were right on about that! I imagine, too, that he wasn't captive-bred, as I was told by the "breeder." So, it looks like I'll be smooshing up crix for awhile.
I hope he makes it, but above all, I hope his suffering ends, whether it be by a return to good health or by passing on. I thank you all so much for the replies, the help, & the support. Special thanks to you, especially, jdany! *hugs*
