Tomistoma fundraiser review part I

reptiletubs Mar 02, 2007 01:05 AM

For anyone who did not attend, you missed an incredible opportunity. It was the best 3 days I've had in a long time. I had the opportunity to speak with Bruce Shwedick, Joe Wasilewski, Kent Vliet, Flavio Morrissiey, Ralf Sommerlad, Uthen, Brady Barr, Sam Seashole, etc. Any croc question could have been answered by one of those individuals.
I spent the day of the event roaming around the zoo. They had a pair of cubans and two pair of dwarf caimen on display. There were 5.0 orinocos and 1.1 tomistoma behind the scenes.
For the event, Bruce had Pip (the U.S. born tomistoma) out for a good part of the evening for photo opportunities. Most of the evening was informal mingling. Many great items were available through the auction. Examples were tomistoma skull replica, trip to Costa Rica with Brady Barr, paintings by elephants, out of print croc books, behind the scenes tours of various parks etc. Later in the night a komodo was brought out for some hands on (check out Dieter's photo skills lol).

Hehe, my photos turned out pretty good. I thinks it's the equipment.
