Joel, one more question!

dragonlady1954 Aug 11, 2003 09:02 PM

I am sorry to keep bothering you but I wanted to find out if you just put a dish of greens/pellets in the cage and then leave it all day? I have to keep moistening it periodically during the day because it dries out. Is there any way to encourage the little angels to try it?? I have tried squashing it on my finger and then putting it up to their noses and they will lick at it but won't eat it. I know the pellets are small but they still look so big for a new baby. Do you take the dish completely out at night?? Thanks again. Sorry for all the questions!!

I mist the pellets when I mist them. If they stay moist, they can eat them no problem. (I haven't seen many other peoples new hatchlings so I'm going off of my pairs babies) If you are worried they are too big for them, you can grind them in one of those things used to crush medicines & stuff (I don't know the real name) The marble bowl & wand things?? Then sprinkle it over the food. I have a friend who did that for a while (but then again, they don't moisten their pellets)

Also, if I notice they haven't eaten much, if any, I stir it up a bit and for some reason that tends to give them interest??

Hey,, don't worry about bothering anyone. Find out from as many people as you can, then find somewhere in the middle that is comfortable to you and your dragons. I asked a billion questions and still do.

Good luck

Sorry,, yes the dish comes out at night. I take out the dishes from all of them at night and was them so they will be ready for morning. lol (anything to help cut down the labor in the morning really helps)

Pestule makes me think of a big, pussy boil about to explode. Gross, I know. I don't know why some words make me think of other words (is there such a word as pustule? If not there should be). I don't have a dictionary handy and I'm always making up words (especially to replace foul ones), so I sometimes don't know if it's something I made up or real (words that is..not reality - I do have a grasp on reality...for the most part.

...my mind is a dangerous place..hope I don't get lost...

Where reality is optional. hehehe

Being on the East Coast, I have to stay up quite late to answer e-mails etc. especially when I have active adds. That's when the mind goes.

Later.
