In your opinion, who is the best reptile website designer in the business? Also, which reptile website do you think is the best and why?

Off the top of my head - here a few of many that I really like - I have no idea who designed them tho:

Albey's Too Cool - Its just a fun site - I love how he's got it set up so that you have in one click the background of the snake - parents, how it's been eating, shedding, growing. He's also got lots of good info and his passion and enthusiasm for what he is doing comes across in his site - oh and his pictures are stellar.

Marcus Jaynes - Excellent information - about balls and about his available animals - a really well put together site good pictures. I love the breeding page and that belly roll is great!

Roussis Reptiles, Ozzyboids and The Urban Chondro have nice sites too.

There are lots of good sites - but I think all of my favorites clearly convey that these guys love what they are doing - the sites provide good information but the focus remains on the reptiles not on breeder hype. The photos are great, the site is pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate - not too much clutter, random linking nor overwhelming flash.

Based on appearance, ease of use, and information, I'd say Markus Jayne at ballpython.ca

Ralph Davis has a ton of great info, but is poorly laid out and hard to navigate.

Graziani is pretty good too, but could use some more info.

Marks site is really good. And if you look at the bottom of Graziani's site you will see that it was also created by Mark.

Are you looking to have one built? One thing I look at is ease of use both by the user and the person that maintains it (likely, you). I have seen quite a few websites that require a map, GPS and PH D to navigate.

Yes, I'm looking for someone to build a website for me. Ease of use, good info and an eye catching design are all important.

Any other suggestions?

There are tons and tons of considerations for a website. Just do your research and remember design & planning are 99% of the game. A bad design, even if executed perfectly, is still bad. Figure out what you want and more importantly what your target audience wants. Find a designer that will work with you - not tell you what he or she wants. And be careful, there are lots of shade-tree mechanics out there.
