Yes, you can give him anything you want, but why would you? Mice and other whole prey items are readily accessible and much much better for the animal, so why would you not just stick with that?
The foods that are prefered by the experts are, whole prey items. If you want to feed turkey then give your monitor a whole baby turkey. I feed my sav super worms, rats, mice, hissing cock roaches, and raw chicken eggs. He gets morman crickets when they pass through. If you want to give it a treat of ground turkey thats fine but it is not a good staple food choice.

Shannon in Reno
1 savannah monitor (Pombe-means "beer" in Swahili)
6 dogs
1 cat
32 rats
50 mice
54 chickens
2 beardies
1 black rat snake
~100 hissers
1 giant milipede
I alternate between raw ground turkey, mice, canned monitor diet, superworms, and chicken egg (cooked to destroy the avidin), and all my monitors (1 savannah, 3 timors) seem to do great with the variety.
