weidjd Mar 03, 2007 01:28 PM

I am starting to get the items for a woma setup. Any good care Sheets or anything special a woma needs?

I've been keeping 2.2 on shredded aspen w/ a temp gradient of 88F to about 77F. Each is kept in a 4'x2'x1' enclosure w/ a hide box and a med. water bowl. I use radiant heat panels and a helix thermostat. This is my first year working w/ these great snakes, and both females are currently gravid (will post pics as soon as I figure out how to make the file size smaller).

When I first became interested in Womas, I did an internet search on "woma python captive husbandry", and got a few basic care sheets, but the best advice I can give you is to spend a little extra $$ on an animal from someone who has personally produced them, and is reputable. Usually, they will give you advice more valuable than any care sheet.

Lastly, alot of guys on this site/forum really know their stuff! I've asked some questions, and gotten some really useful answers. "Lateralis" has been invaluable for both information, and helping me remain sane through ovulation questions, incubator setup, and 1 false alarm (the night she didn't lay).
He's already got dibs on my first born! LOL.

Have fun and ask lots of questions!
Enjoy!
Mike
