man, I hope things get better...

draybar Mar 03, 2007 01:33 PM

I just had to spend every penny I had to put a new engine in my truck.
As soon as I got my truck back we had to put my wife's car in the shop.....It needs to either have the engine rebuilt or a new engine..Problem is the car isn't really worth putting that much money into so now we are going to have to buy her a car..Hard to do without money...lol
Now if that wasn't enough, when I got home from talking to the mechanic about my wife's car I reached into the 'fridge to grab a Coke and everything was warm. The 'fridge had died. I checked the freezer and everything had thawed....including around 200 mice for my snakes.
Well, after cursing up a storm and kicking everything in sight I figured there was nothing I could do about it until I got off work today so I bagged up everything in the fridge and put it in the garbage. I then decided to see if Sam and Rosie (my favorite pair of bairdis) were ready to breed. I placed them in a 32 quart sterilite container and left them alone.
Well, before I went to bed last night I checked on the snakes and Sam had escaped. Rosie was still there but Sam had escaped. Couldn't find him anywhere. Man talk about a bummer..He really is a special bairdi.
I just got through bringing the new refrigerator in and we are going to go looking for a car for Patti in a few minutes.
wish us luck.
Then I guess I will have to order more mice...more non-existant money...lol

sorry to whine, I just needed to vent.

Man!!! Keep your head up! Sorry to hear about your troubles!

Steve_Craig Mar 03, 2007 06:23 PM

Sorry to hear you're having a rough week Jimmy. Sometimes everythng breaks on you at once. I really hope you get Sam back. Let's hope one of your cats can be of help. I lost a corn a couple of years ago. A hatchling blizzard. Three days later I noticed our cat looking at something in the corner of the kitchen. As luck would have it, there was the corn.

I hope that things get better really soon for you! Make sure to check in that warm fridge for Sam before you trash it (although have you considered keeping it and modifying it to make a giant incubator?). Let us know when you find the snake.

Hang in there Jimmy. Havent you heard, trouble always happens in 3s. Between the truck, your wife's car, and the fridge, youve got it covered. The worst is past, and Sam will show up soon. He's too big to have gotten too far. Keep us updated.

Man, I don't want to jinx you but it can't get much worse. I hope you find your escapee, remember to check recliners, every snake I've had escape ended up in mine, (of course my rack is like 4-5 feet from the recliner) Good luck though

Jimmy,
Sorry to hear all that trouble.
Sometimes, "If it ain't piss ants, its spiders."
You probably know this, but many home insurance policies cover meat lost when a freezer fails.
Caution, however, ...
Several home insurance companies cancel your home insurance when they find out you have snakes!!!

I just thought I'd join in the goodwill here, I hope things improve for you draybar.

I also wish that Sam returns for you real soon, opening the sterilite container, letting himself in and 'doing the business' for you. Hey, we can hope, it doesn't cost anything!

KInd regards,

thanks for the support, everyone.
I appreciate it.
Yeah, I am of the belief that things can't get any worse so there's only one way to go from here....lol
More car-hunting to do today but the new refridgerator is working well. That's one step forward.
Once again I would like to say thanks for all of the support and thanks for letting me vent.
It really helped
Jimmy

Well you can always buy my 85 camaro from me.... I doubt that will solve any problems though It actually ran better AFTER it caught on fire! How big is Sam? If you take some duct tape and make the tape "rings" (like you are hanging a poster, etc.) you can sometimes catch them in them and it is safer than a glue trap. Good luck Jimmy!

LOL... ran better after it caught on fire...I ;d like to burn my wifes.

Sam is almost five feet now.
The tape rings would get drug around the house by the cats.
Especially Scooter, He would make them his personal conquests..lol
