These pic's are also from 2006....

This female finished up with 17 eggs in this clutch, then double clutched another 10 good eggs a few weeks later!

This was the first time i double clutched an alterna & 17 eggs was by far the largest clutch i ever got from an alterna. Before that 13 was the most.

Shes a beauty too, thats a lot of pretty little alterna hatchlings you musta had.

The cali female in the last post double clutched also for the first time. 7 perfect eggs both times.

Last year was the first time I put my females back in with a male after laying the first clutch. Every single one double clutched without the slightest problem. I would say that within a week of laying their second clutch they looked BETTER then they did in the spring. No one would have ever known that some gave me 14 eggs.

I wake mine up early so I got a good headstart. My females were done laying their second clutches by May 29th !! I probobly could have put them back in with a male a third time, but I didn't want to push my luck!
