Gravid?

reptilicus81 Mar 04, 2007 12:28 PM

We picked up a couple of adult BCI from a petstore where they had been housed with multiple BCI (male and female). One of the two is rather warm (2 degrees warmer than her substrate), and is quite fat. I am hoping she is not gravid, as it appears she wasn't cared for very well before being given to the store. I couldn't get the best picture...both snakes recently ate a jumbo rat each (the larger girl is over 20 lbs, so it was a smaller meal). Although, it is difficult to tell from the picture, she is carrying a bit of extra weight towards her back end!

Can't really tell from the pic but keep an eye on her just in case.

I have a similar question. I was not planning on breeding my Hog Island Boas this year and made no special peparations. They were however together during last Thanksgiving holiday. The female is eating little. She is in a cage next to the male under identical conditions. What I have noticed is that she is quite restless (for the last few weeks). Is this a sign of being gravid?

Never mind, found the answer.
