Shes a girl! You get them in a bath. Some candles a little music. Don't forget the bath water beads. Oh! Your snake is soaking? Sorry, let her soak. When she's done look at the water. If there is any little pepper flakes. She might have mites. If not give the girl some privacy. Claude's wife

im fairly new to keeping a one of these guys.
but mine started soaking and it turned out to be mites.

i ordered this kit form lllreptile and it had provent a mite and reptile relief for a little over 20 bucks. follow the instructions on the website and you should be fine. it more of an annoyance then anything.

just checking-she does have a hot spot of around 90 degrees right? some snakes are ok with lower temps, but i try for at least a hot spot of 89-92 just in case they need it. my snakes will soak like that sometimes, usually right after i change the water, they like it fresh. Unless the humidity is really low or unless she has little black dots (mites) she is probably just fine. :D

The temps usually stay around 83 at night...im starting to wonder that when I rearranged her cage that her water dish has a lot more covering and maybe she feels more protective?? Plus I have noticed the humidity is low. I didnt notice any mites in the water bowl, nor did i on her when i held her last night
