Sorry, I did not take a pic of my last bite from an adult...

The story: It was late one night out in the snake room, around midnight maybe 6 months ago. I had a few beers in me. Opened the cage a little too quick (just to check?!?!) on my largest female Borneo (nearly 6 feet and likely 25 pounds) and WHAM! Before I could react, she nailed me on the top of my right hand. She ONLY bit me on the top of the hand with half of her upper jaw. This was NOT an defensive strike. I truly believe she realized before the BIG twist, that I was not a meal (since it twisted my hand too for a brief second). I bled like niagra falls from the back of my hand and it swelled up a bit over the next hour. The next day, the back of my hand then turned black/purple from a massive sub-dermal? hematoma. It was black/purple then green/yellow for about three weeks all together. FUN stuff! I'll take a hit ANY DAY from a Borneo/Blood over a giant Python (like Burm/Rock/Retic). Those can land you in the hospital...

All part of the deal keeping larger snakes. I truly never plan to repeat my mistake.

I had a 5 ft 18 lb male grab the end of my thumb because he was hungry and I wasn't careful. He was in his hide and I was taking it out so someone could see him. Luckily all he saw was my thumb poke underneath and not my whole hand. It bled quite a bit - the picture was from the next day...
I was surprised with how much it bruised.
