Hello, New here, just got a veiled cham

Michele_Thomas Mar 04, 2007 09:01 PM

Hello, My name is Michele and I bought my first cham yesterday. He/she (cant really tell, thinking she) seems to be aclimating well. Assuming its a she, she's a juvy, not really sure how old. She is in a mesh and pvc habitat, has climbing things in place, a zoomed uvb tube 5.0, basking light, and a spray bottle but no automatic mister yet. Still playing around with the temps and humidity but I'm working on it. I don't have live plants in the habitat yet, but have several houseplants that she can play in/on. I think they are all safe for her except maybe the mother in laws tounge, which aspca says are toxic to dogs and cats so for future reference I am taking that away from where she'll be. If I can figure out how to post them here I have some pics on photobucket if anyone would like to see them. And so far for food I have a pretty good cricket colony going on that I feed and dust etc. so not anticipating any probs there. Except in my research I'm reading I may need some additional insects as well.
So, hope to get to know everyone, and hope my new little green friend does well.
Regards,
Michele
