This killer little pair came from Michelle. The adult male is from My friend Eric in New York.
I really need a breedable female to go with him.

Hi Shannon

Nice pick up from Michelle and Eric. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the background color of that male when he showed me a pic. I'm glad he now resides in your collection. Show us some more pics of the other thayeri when you pick more up. BTW, I also enjoyed the milksnake series that you posted at the Milksnake forum. Although, I've noticed, it looks like you eat too many Pringles looking at some of your pics! hehe, jp. Thanks for sharing.

Shannon,
Very nice snakes, like most of yours are. Here's my only Thayeri. The Milksnake phase is the male.

shannon brown Mar 05, 2007 10:02 PM

All there are nice but Dude that adult male is smoking! if I had an extra female I'd send her to you.

shannon brown Mar 05, 2007 10:03 PM

Thanks Tony, Yeah he is a real looker.

rick millspaugh Mar 05, 2007 10:23 AM

Michelle has some great Thayeri (L. leonis). I know the white(ish) and yellow ones are the current popular ones but I like the orange ones. The white ones are old school, bright orange took more effort (lol).

Shannon,
What is Eric's last name? Do you know where he got that yellow thayeri from? They all look great but like Tony, the yellow male is the bomb.

Russ

shannon brown Mar 05, 2007 09:58 PM

Thanks Russ,
His last name is Kikel and he got him from Ken Catstevens (sp?).

Gorgeous Thayeri Shannon. That yellow one in the last two pics is a beauty. I really love that one.

Steve

shannon brown Mar 06, 2007 12:15 PM

Thanks Steve,
I just love his looks also.I hope to pair him up this year with something nice.

vichris Mar 05, 2007 10:56 PM

Do the yellow snakes get the yellow Pringles cans? And I would presume the orange ones get orange cans? LOL

Those are all some great looking snakes. At first sight I thought that yellow one was a Bodner baby. Yours is exceptional too.

KenCasstevens Mar 05, 2007 11:42 PM

Hey Shannon. This is a pic of one of your pairs siblings that I got from Michelle. I've got another pair on the way. Man, Michelle has some smokin Thayeri! Looking at the pics of that male I can't believe I sold him to Eric. What the heck was I thinking? lol. I got him in as part of a trio. I still have the two females, but he will be missed.
Ken

KenCasstevens Mar 06, 2007 12:41 AM

He was the male I got in with the trio from the guy who had aquired them from Dick Bartlett. I lost his information, and can't remember his name right now. The female that you think might have been originally yours was in this trio.
Ken

RussBates Mar 06, 2007 04:19 AM

that male looks familiar. I only produced a handful with that peach hood and Dick purchased a pair in 2004. I never have been able to get him to answer my email. That male sure turned out to be a looker. Glad you got him.
Russ

shannon brown Mar 06, 2007 12:16 PM

Yes, She has some smokkkkiiiinnnn stuff.
I think you should send me one of the females you got in that trio>LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

KenCasstevens Mar 06, 2007 12:37 PM

Sorry, but my green male already has dibs on them. lol. I didn't want to get rid of that male, but I was male high, and had to sacrifice. Man, he's a looker.
Ken

waspinator421 Mar 05, 2007 11:56 PM

Those are some killer thayeri!! I'm really excited to see what that one with the reduced black looks like as an adult. I sure would like one like that in my collection. And the yellow on that male is great!

RussBates Mar 06, 2007 04:35 AM

I thought that snake looked familiar and after digging through my old photos I found it's picture in my archives. That male had significantly more peach on it than yellow at hatchling size. It really turned into a nice snake IMO.

I can send you pics of the mom/pop if interested Shannon. Pop came from Steve Little and the mom came from Gary Sipperly. Got the pair in 1998.

Enjoy
Russ

Aaron Mar 06, 2007 11:25 AM

I would like to see the parents. Sipperly is one of the first reptile people I knew of. I still have a few of his old pricelists from the late 80's/early 90's.

RussBates Mar 06, 2007 07:53 PM

Aron,
Here is the pair:

Female - notice that her pattern stops right at the neck line. This trait seems to be passed on to a percentage of the clutch. I've never kept track of that trait but plan to this year.

RussBates Mar 06, 2007 07:54 PM

sorry, I'm being a doofus

Aaron Mar 07, 2007 05:23 PM

Very nice, especially the male. I like the greenish tint he seems to have. I think the greenish gray ones spawned the yellow thayeri and the buckskin ones spawned the orange ones.

Thanks for posting them.

RussBates Mar 07, 2007 06:55 PM

there is no green to that male..promise. For the first four years of his life he was the best looking yellow leonis I have ever seen. He's starting to show his age now but still breeds great. I've bred him to many different females over the years and I always get a percentage of really nice yellows like him. The trick is getting an equally nice female....that seems to be a challenge.

Russ

Aaron Mar 08, 2007 08:52 AM

I believe you, no green. In pattern he looks alot like a male I had from Lloyd Lemke that was green so I guess I was just seeing things.

shannon brown Mar 06, 2007 12:06 PM

Nice work Russ,
I am glad its from sipperly and little stock thats great.

Thanks Shannon
