I am setting up a new tank for tomato frogs and I need to get the humidty level set at or around 75. Is my best bet screen lids and misting twice daily, or glass/plexi top? The tank has a waterfall and two drainage pools, but besides that it is mostly land(bed-a-beast)with vegetation. Ive used plexi in the past for high humidity leveled tanks. Ideas, suggestions? Im trying to avoid "droplets" forming, don't think it will be an issue with the tank being fairly terrestrial.

Screen is defenetly a bad idea any humidity you build up will evaporate quickly.

Your best bet would be to use glass or plexy to cover 95% of the top, and use a screen area for ventalation. I have seen a lot of dart tanks with that set up and it works really well.

As for droplets either except them as giant rain or it is possible (but harder to build)to place the top on an incline this way condensation builds up and runs away possible to a collection point or just to the pool end. Like I said it will be hard to build but is an effective way to provent droplets.

Good Luck

A low cost way if you already have the screen top is to cover most of it with plastic wrap. We completely cover our dart frog tanks like this and they get plenty of ventilation when we open it to feed. For tomato frogs I would leave no more than 1/4 of the screen open but monitor the humidity levels to be sure. As for condensation.. you'll just have to deal with it or get creative about routing the "runoff" like the previous post stated.

Good luck.
