spider question

sabastian Aug 11, 2003 11:12 PM

I have a *huge* writing spider outside my door... And I know that some ppl have been giving their lizards wolf spiders that also bite.. does their bites not hurt the lizards??? I give him big crickets everyday (he eats like 6 or 7!) I was just trying to spruce up his menu a bit.. I know that they can also have moths, grasshoppers.. and meal worms.. but what insects should I avoid? (besides lightening bugs.. I read a post about them being dangerous a while back..) I sure don't want to end up hurting him...
Thanks again!
Heather

I feed mine spiders all the time. I never tried a black widow but have read that lizards are immune to spider venom. I had one eat a bee before but usually they won't. Mine won't eat earwigs probably because they taste like crap. I haven't tried a scorpion and probably won't.

I hate earwigs, they just look icky. I wish the cold winters here would kill them off.

Just make sure they could not have come into contact with pesticides or insecticide.
