Not a pit but.....

I know you guys will appreciate her anyway. Last year I purchased my first pair of coachwhips. They are incredibly smart and have been a lot of fun. I'm hoping to produce them this year. My male is pretty easy to handle but this girl is a lightning bolt on crack. I can't wait to get some babies to see how they behave. Have a good one everybody!

Coachwhips are one of my favorite snakes but I just don't have the guts (or space) to keep any! Lighting bolt on crack is about right!

I miss all the gang so much when they are in brumation that I have a tendency to ooh and ahh over them for a couple of months after they're out!

Coaches are really an amazing animal. I am very excited to see how the hatchlings develope temperament wise. I intend to hold onto a couple of babies just to see for myself. Like I said in the previous post, my male is pretty handleable (long term captive) but this girl does more to hurt herself than to hurt me the majority of the time. I really don't even attempt to handle her any more just for fear of her injuring herself. They are incredibly smart. They almost make me think of the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park. When they look at you its almost like they are planning their next move. I had the same fears you did but I am sooooooo glad that I gave in to temptation. It is a great learning experience. Thanks again and take care to all!

Those are awesome. I caught one just south of Alpine about two years ago that looked just like that. Turned it loose though. Talk about lightning quick and they go for the face too.
