can any vet do this? anyone have any suggestions on vets in new england that can do this? It's a great idea and i've never thought about it.
Most vets do dog, cats find a reptile vet and they should be able to do it. If you have a little experience with a needle and need to do a lot of reptiles just order them and do it your self Avid will send directions with a little diagram. I started with larger snakes until I felt confident, I have done many balls that were only 150 grams or less no problems.BIG needle though.

Hi! What is the average cost per chip implant ? Thanks David Of DS Reptile Rescue
I got 50 and scanner for around $700 after shipping you figure $15 each but that is 50 chips 50 syringes pre loaded plus the scanner and I got the better scanner too you could buy just the chips and reload the syringe that would save some $$.Each chip comes with 4 stickers with ID #s.Its is good for many reasons one being if (God forbid)someone steals your snake you could always positively ID them two for the Hets you sell, chipping them could save you a big head ache down the road. If the customer wants to resell it you can guarantee genetics as long as the snake has your ID chip no messing around with photo ID cards that might be hard to tell if it is or isn't the same snake 4 or 5 years down the road. Many other good reasons too. If you need just 1 or 2 give me a call or shoot me an email I could help I think you have to buy a certain amount from avid but not sure. VPRAMUK@CFL.RR.COM 321-268-4323
