Red Eyed Skinks...questions

dravenxavier Aug 11, 2003 11:29 PM

Well, I have a year old blue-tongued skink, and now that I moved back in with my mom, I don't have the space I used to have. However, after she's sold, I'll have a spare 55 gallon. I've been looking into these red-eyed skinks off and on for about a year now, so I know most of the general care. I'm looking to get a pair to breed, but I do have some questions. Is it true there is no specific breeding season? i.e. no brumation period? Where is the most likely spot for the eggs to be laid (so I can remove them for incubation)? Besides insects and occasional pinkie mice, are there other foods that should be fed, such as any fruits or vegetables? Also, does anyone have any sources they personally recommend for red-eyed skink pairs? Thanks for your help, and I hope these questions haven't been asked too much in the past.

Well i have an orange/red eyed Croc Skink, a girl, and the only question i can answer ( the other questions you made i cant answer because i never tried to breed my girl)is about the food. The only food my girl accepts is mealworms and the mealworms beetles.Ive tried a lot of different foods including fruits and vegetables but she only likes/eats mealworms and mealworms beetles.
