Where are all of the easterns?

phiber_optikx Mar 06, 2007 12:58 AM

I'm not much of a king person but have always had a fascination with the easterns. So where are they?! I was looking on the classifieds to see what they go for now and couldn't find a single one. Come to think of it I haven't seen one advertised in a very long time.....

It's late here, but try Cherryville farms, they have some nice Eastern kings and they are good people too!

Here's a few. I have a pair of Orangeburg CTY, SC right out of brumation waiting to hopefully breed. The middle closeup is a MD locale, the last one is an Outerbanks king, and the first pic is one we caught last year in Calvert County, MD. It was released soon after we caught it. Derek

I'd share a pic of mine, but he's a skittish little one and I'm refraining from handling him until he's a bit older and calm enough not to attack the camera again. Once I do, you will be flooded

I need to get some new pics of my pair... I'm working with two GA Easterns right now... Currently they're brumating, I hope to breed them this year.

My CB04 male from Will Still... "Psycho". He's almost 4 feet.

And I need to get some pics of my 03 Female, because I have none.

I appreciate all of the pics. And they were all great. My question was more pointed to why don't you ever see them for sale anymore....

In my opinion, eastern kings are not produced like cali kings are... Cali kings are produced in very large numbers, and therefore you always see them for sale.

Easterns are available. In the classifieds around July-August, you'll probably see them.

Very true Mike, but they are around, just takes some looking and asking!

Scott

MikeFedzen Mar 06, 2007 06:32 PM

Very true.

I know several breeders that have them available right now.

she made some beautiful "unique" babies last year.

SDeFriez Mar 06, 2007 08:28 PM

Nice, bet she did have some awesome looking babies.

Have never really seen an ugly king or milk, some better looking than others, but all awesome looking in their own ways!

None available now but he has lots of very nice stock. Some other breeders I've seen advertise their animals as having come from his stock.
