my mite update

baby_ball Mar 06, 2007 11:16 AM

It's been one day short of a week since I first saw mites on the baby. I removed all bark and gave her a nice soak. I also treated her with Rep Rinse which is all that my pet store had. I treated the tank too as directed on the bottle. She has been on white paper towels since then and I haven't seen any mites on the towels. Thank God! I have baked her bark probably for longer than needed but just wanted to be sure. I am thinking of putting her bark back in this weekend. Any other suggestions? She also hasn't soaked in her water dish since I treated her and she was soaking a few times a day about two days before I saw the mites. It just so happened she was shedding too and I thought that might be why she was soaking.

Thanks!
~April

Sounds good. I would repeat soaking and treatment in ten days to kill any eggs, then put bark back in.. Good luck, I just had the same thing.
