Which gecko species house well together?

palazzo_photo Mar 06, 2007 02:46 PM

I know most of the basics about housing.(conditions, males, territory, size of enclosure and cover)

I'd like sum feedback from those who have housed several species together and have done well

Im trying to find more info on the web but my results have been few

please direct me to any sites with good info

most species, at least the ones that I work with, would not.

I know someone that keeps an AFT with a Leo, but I don't think its a good idea. Most gecko species have conflicting needs. Read up on your caresheets and I think you'll agree with me.

My brother keeps a gold gecko with a crested, and they seem to do ok, but they have a very large enclosure, so they have plenty of room to get away from each other if they want to, but even so, it's not something that I'd recommend.

This same thread was already answered very well below! Not sure why you posted again? The answer is still the same. You should never house two different species together no matter what. They may have SIMILAR habitats, but that is just it, they are simialr not exactally the same. Which can cause major issues. I personally would not risk it. Usually those who house several species are not that smart and have no money to support a proper enclosure for them, or they just have no knowledge and someone at a petstore said it was OK.
