Expense Report Template

midnightherps Mar 06, 2007 04:08 PM

Does any one have a template they use to keep track of expenses relating to their repitle business?
I'd really appreciate any suggestions or ideas. Ive already looked through the templates that microsoft's website has to offer for excel. Im curious how the rest of you keep track of your expenses for tax purposes.

Thanks
Brendan

I've used a lot of different programs over the years and I have finally settled in with Quikbooks Pro. It seems to have everything that you could ever want. Hope this helps, Brian (BHB)

I agree that QBs is a good easy program to use - we have used it for my husbands business for years and love it.

But honestly - I've found with as small of a snake collection that we work with (50ish snakes) QBs is just too much - after using it the first year we decided to switch to a simple debit credit spreadsheet turned into the accountant at the end of the year.

In a typical year our expenditures are very limited and only reoccur a few times a year:

feeders (we feed f/t ordered in bulk 3-4 times a year)

misc supplies (substrate, deli cups, cleaners, shipping supplies bought in bulk once or twice a year)

shipping fees (as needed)

misc. memberships/advertising (usually one annual payment).

I would suppose if I had a huge facility with thousands of snakes and their feeders and employees and what have you - then QBs would make more sense but with a couple of dozen transactions annually - it was more than necessary.

Perhaps a 3 x 5 index card.

Hi Rick and Brian,

Is Intuit QuickBooks Pro 2007 easy to use or is a class needed?
