unless yuou dont have the money it should be in thhe right size cage the day it comes out of the mommy. Well a mounth after it comes out you/ if you can put it in a eather 20long(No less) or anything bigger. Dont go over 100 because there is no need. But if money is thight it can be when tey turn 2. I would not go putting a baby in an adult-sized enclosure. Balls are different to other snakes in that less is better when they are young, they need to feel secure to feed and a huge open space might freak them out too much and stress them out so they won't eat, are more prone to illness , bad sheds and all the other side effects of a stressed snake. For a hatchling you are much better using Rubbermaids and max 10 gal enclosures with plenty of hides. The hides need to be small enough so that all their coils can touch the sides of the hide. I find toilet roll tubes are perfect when they're really small. You'll know yourself when they're beginning to look cramped and can up your size of container but do it gradually and transfer as much of their old decor as possible.
