New Incubator

Claudeballs Mar 07, 2007 06:27 PM

Just finished building my incubator. I was looking for a door but found a window. Dual glazed double hung Argon gas filled. It was a special order that never got picked up. So they (Home Depot) marked it way down. The incubator will hold 12, 2gal flex and seal containers. Now all I need are some eggs. Claude

That is a very nice incubator how much did it cost to build something like that?

The box is made of 3/4 plywood. It measures 4x3x2. With 2 in. of foamboard, 2 115 watt fans, 4 ft. of 11 in. Flexwatt, 12 ft. of rope light, switch and outlets and 4 swivel casters $150.00 That doesn't count the Helix thermostat the window or the tubs.

Yet another example of how I don't take my ideas to the next level. I had cages designed using windows and it never occured to me to use it to make a nice sealed incubator. I was going to buy a new incubator but now I think I'm just going to Home Depot tonight.....

Good post.
